Space Needle

One of the first projects I was able to participate in upon starting my previous company was the full remodel of the Space Needle Restaurant known as skyCity. My work included the all new floor plan on the existing turntable, color and material selection, custom millwork design, furniture and fixture selection and specification, custom art package including coordination with the Chihuly Studio. While planning an efficient dining room that flows for both the guest and staff is always a challenge, working within the confines of a moving, relatively narrow turntable added extra complexity. My goal was to provide a complete update worthy of such an icon with hints of history while still being thoroughly contemporary. The initial remodel occurred in 2000 with a refresh in 2007. While this interior no longer exists in this form, it remains a very fond memory.
